Temple of the Dog, 2017

Temple of the Dog was created between Andrea Aðalsteins and Anton Logi in the residency Pogotowie teatralno-filmowe, in Lodz, Poland. Material for the videos and sounds were collected in Poland and on the roads of Romania. As part four of the Villains project, it was exhibited in Lodz as a video and two paper maché sculptures.

The Villains go inward in an attempt to recreate something from a past state of destruction. Black and white dogs haunt them as they try to transform the past in to a different reality. The first video shows a forest ghost that the Villains encountered in the woods of Lodz, who showed them the way of the dogs. They followed them, contemplating their recent actions, still striving for a shift within the world. A white light being appeared in their second video which beholds true innocence, counting the seven flowers of time again and again. The third video shows the golden mountain and the man who sits on it, waiting for it’s destiny. The woman is the moon and the man is the sun. Each they serve the other.
